AI & Automation

AI that works for the business — governed, not a gimmick.

Everyone's talking about AI; few are deploying it safely. QTSI builds practical, governed AI: assistants that answer from your own knowledge, automation that removes busywork, and the guardrails that keep your data compliant — measurable value, not a science project.

AI & automation — QTSI
What it is

Practical AI deployed the right way — start with one concrete, high-value use case, prove it, then scale, with security and governance built in from the first day.

We don't sell hype. We identify where AI actually saves time or money in your business — a support assistant, a document workflow, an internal knowledge base — and ship it with your data kept private and compliant (PIPEDA-aware). You get measurable results and a clear governance framework, so leadership can adopt AI with confidence instead of caution.

  • Value-first. We start with a use case that has a clear, measurable payback.
  • Your data stays yours. Private, grounded deployments — no leaking corporate data into public models.
  • Governed. Policies, access controls, and audit trails so AI is safe to adopt.

Four ways AI earns its keep

Each is deployed securely, grounded in your data, and measured against a real business outcome.

AI Assistants

Branded copilots and chat assistants — like the one on this site — that answer customers and staff from your knowledge, qualify leads, and hand off to a human when it matters. Available 24/7, on-brand, and grounded in approved content.

Workflow Automation

We remove repetitive, error-prone busywork — data entry, routing, approvals, document handling — by connecting your systems and letting AI handle the in-between. Staff spend their time on judgment, not copy-paste.

Knowledge Bases

A private, searchable AI knowledge base over your documents, policies, and procedures — so staff find the right answer in seconds and tribal knowledge stops walking out the door. Grounded responses with sources, not guesses.

AI Governance

The guardrails that make AI safe to adopt — acceptable-use policy, data classification, access controls, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and audit trails. So you capture AI's upside without the compliance, privacy, or reputational downside.

Challenges we solve

Why most AI initiatives stall.

The technology isn't the hard part — picking the right use case, keeping data safe, and governing it are.

"Where do we even start?"

AI pilots fizzle because they chase hype instead of a use case with a clear, measurable payback.

One high-value use case first

Data privacy risk

Staff pasting sensitive data into public tools is a breach waiting to happen — and a compliance nightmare.

Private, governed deployments

Hallucinations & no control

Ungrounded AI invents answers and operates with no oversight — eroding trust the moment it's wrong.

From idea to governed rollout

A pragmatic path: prove value on one use case, then scale with the guardrails already in place.

1

Identify

We find the use case with the clearest payback and define what success measurably looks like.

2

Pilot

We build a grounded, secure proof of value on your data — fast, with humans in the loop.

3

Govern

We put policy, access controls, and audit trails in place so the rollout is compliant and safe.

4

AI that delivers, and that you can trust.

  • Time reclaimed. Repetitive work is automated, freeing staff for higher-value tasks.
  • Faster answers. Customers and staff get accurate, grounded responses instantly.
  • Compliant adoption. Governance lets you embrace AI without privacy or audit risk.
  • A real edge. Practical AI that competitors are still only talking about.
FAQ

Common questions about AI & automation

Where does most of the business value from AI come from in the first 90 days?

The highest near-term value almost always comes from one of three places: an AI assistant that answers customer or staff questions from your own content (reducing support load), an internal knowledge base over your documents and procedures (faster answers, less tribal knowledge walking out the door), or workflow automation that removes a high-volume manual task. QTSI's discovery process identifies which fits your situation and has the clearest, fastest payback.

How do you keep our data private and prevent it from going into public AI models?

QTSI deploys AI on private, isolated infrastructure — either Azure OpenAI Service (data stays within your Azure tenancy) or equivalent private endpoints. We never route client data through shared public APIs without governance in place. Data classification, access controls, and contractual terms are reviewed as part of every deployment so your PIPEDA obligations are met and your IP stays protected.

What qualifies as a good first AI use case?

A good first use case has a clear, measurable outcome (time saved, tickets deflected, queries answered), uses data you already have, and doesn't require AI to make high-stakes autonomous decisions. Support assistants, internal policy Q&A, document extraction, and meeting summarization are common strong starting points. QTSI evaluates and prioritizes these during the discovery engagement so you invest in the one most likely to succeed.

How do you govern and audit the AI after it is deployed?

Governance includes an acceptable-use policy, data classification defining what content the AI can access, access controls on who can interact with it, human-in-the-loop checkpoints for sensitive decisions, and an audit log of interactions. We also build in a review cadence — typically monthly — where outputs are spot-checked and the system is updated as source content changes. Governance is built into the deployment, not bolted on afterward.

Does AI integration require replacing our existing software?

No. QTSI's AI deployments integrate with your existing systems via APIs and connectors. An AI assistant can be added to Microsoft Teams, your website, or a client portal. Workflow automation connects your CRM, ERP, and email without rebuilding any of them. The goal is to make what you have more powerful — not to rip and replace.

What clients say

AI that delivered — not just promised

Alberta organizations where QTSI's governed AI deployments produced measurable, immediate results.

We deployed an internal knowledge base for our operations team — 14 years of procedures, HSE documents, and technical manuals — using QTSI's AI program. What used to take a technician 45 minutes of searching now takes 30 seconds. The ROI was obvious before the first month was done.

Our previous AI attempt was a disaster — staff were pasting client data into ChatGPT and no one knew until it surfaced in a compliance review. QTSI came in, designed a governed deployment with proper data handling, and built us an assistant our legal team approved. Night and day difference.
